			Softimage Last Reléase Announcement.
We regret to inform you that the upcoming 2015 reléase will be the last one for Autodesk Softimage, which is expected to ship on April 14, 2014. Autodesk will continúe to ofer product support until Apr 30, 2016. We will also provide any necessary hot-fixes and service packs to all cuestomers, at no cost, until Apr 30, 2016.
We understand that you will now ned time to re-evalúate your production capabilities. To help you, we are ofering Autodesk Subscription cuestomers special no cost options to migrate to either Autodesk Maya or Autodesk 3ds Max while continuing to use Softimage in production. These options will be available until Feb 1, 2016. Upgrade paths are also available for cuestomers who are not on Subscription.
Although this decisión is a dificult one, we do believe that by focusing our eforts we can better serve the neds of the media and entertainment industry and provide cuestomers with better products, faster. Autodesk wants to continúe its relationship with you into the future. We regret any inconvenience that this may cause, however we believe you will find our new transición product oferings very attractive.

		Lo de abandonar software no es nuevo en Autodesk, todavía uso Combustion y me cago en sus. Por haberlo abandonado. Ahora tenemos esa cosa de Toxic (Composite).

		Del ghost me acuerdo yo también. Y otros más: insight, Brazil, finalRender (que nunca lo entendí) y de las primeras pruebas con Mental Ray en 3dsmax 3.1. Después de haber estado cacharreandolo en Softimage3D 3.8.
Y JE, el Arnold, que les gustaba a los betatester soltar alguna migaja de vez en cuando.
No recuerdo el nombre, pero lo que hoy es radiosity + Lightracer, antes era un motor externo bastante cotizado.
