Konami has confirmed that shipments and digital sales of Silent Hill f have reached two million units globally as of April 22. The title, released on September 25, 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, had already doubled the one million figure it achieved on its first day. The story takes us to 1960s Japan, where young Shimizu Hinako sees her quiet town, Ebisugaoka, transform into a nightmare after a mysterious fog.
Technical Fog: Unreal Engine 5 and Atmospheric Horror 🎮
The game uses Unreal Engine 5 to recreate the oppressive atmosphere of Ebisugaoka. The developers have applied dynamic lighting systems and volumetric fog that distort the perception of space, generating a feeling of claustrophobia in open environments. Lumen technology allows real-time reflections on wet surfaces, while Nanite manages the detail of traditional Japanese buildings. The result is a graphics engine that prioritizes environmental density over flashy effects.
Two Million Souls Lost in the Fog (and Rising) 👻
While Hinako tries to escape her town turned into hell, two million players have already decided to voluntarily accompany her. Konami must be rubbing its hands: if each copy sold equals one person screaming in front of the screen, they have created the most profitable horror choir in history. The funny thing is that, in a world where people flee from their problems, paying to immerse yourself in a 60s nightmare seems like a great business.
