Mercedes has unveiled its new Mythos supercar at the Nürburgring, a two-seater with aggressive design and aerodynamic enhancements designed for the track. More powerful than any conventional AMG, its interior replicates that of the CLE but without the rear seats. For the average citizen, the news translates to a price exceeding 900,000 euros, a figure that places it out of reach for almost everyone.
Active aerodynamics and track-specific chassis 🏎️
The Mythos incorporates an active rear wing and redesigned diffusers that generate downforce at high speed. Its engine, a hybrid twin-turbo V8, exceeds 800 horsepower, although the brand has not detailed exact figures. The suspension is of the push-rod type, similar to that of a race car, and the chassis uses carbon fiber to reduce weight. All of this is focused on lapping quickly at the Nordschleife, not on daily comfort.
The interior of the CLE, but no room for the kids 😅
The most curious thing about the Mythos is that it shares the dashboard and screens with the CLE, a model that costs a tenth of the price. The difference: here there are no rear seats, only a space where you could store a briefcase full of 500-euro bills. To give you an idea, with what this car costs you could buy 18 CLEs and still have enough left over to fill the gas tank of all of them. Of course, you wouldn't have room to take the kids to school.
