The Affalterbach firm is preparing a high-performance sedan that promises to redefine the segment. The new Mercedes-AMG GT four-door will achieve power close to 1,360 hp, combining a plug-in hybrid system with a design intended to cut through the air. This is not a simple exercise in brute power: active aerodynamics and lightweight materials will be key to taming this beast on the asphalt.
Hybrid powertrain and chassis with active intelligence 🚀
Under the hood, a biturbo V8 assisted by one or more electric motors is expected, inheriting technology from the AMG One. The transmission will be all-wheel drive with torque vectoring, while the adaptive air suspension will work with sensors that anticipate bumps. The figures are impressive: acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under 2.5 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 350 km/h. Carbon-ceramic brakes will be standard, because with that power, stopping is as important as accelerating.
The spoiler that demands more garage space 😅
With that level of aerodynamic downforce, the active rear spoiler deploys as if it wants to greet the neighbors. Of course, when you park at the mall, you better hope the height sensor works well, because if the front splitter scrapes against the curb, your wallet will cry more than a child without their pacifier. At least you can boast that your car has more moving parts than a food processor.
