Jorge Martín pulled off one of the most brutal comebacks of the season in the MotoGP sprint in France. The Aprilia rider, starting from eighth position, completed a textbook first lap to take the lead. His pace and tire management on the cold asphalt of Le Mans were key to securing victory in the short race of the French GP. 🏁
The technical key: the holeshot and rear tire management 🔧
Martín's leap was not a matter of luck. Aprilia has worked on the holeshot launch system, allowing for superior initial grip. Additionally, the RS-GP showed excellent traction in the slow corners of the French circuit, where Martín could pass his rivals without overworking the rear tire. His aggressive yet precise braking style gave him an advantage at the Turn 8 braking zone, a key overtaking point.
Martín's first lap, or how to overtake seven riders without breaking a sweat 😂
While some were still looking for the ignition button, Martín had already made a coffee, read the newspaper, and overtaken half the grid. Watching him go from eighth to first in less than three corners was like watching a kid in a rental go-kart: everyone else seemed to be driving with the handbrake on. If he keeps this up, they'll soon give him a VIP lane just for him at the start.
