Foro3D reports on the announcement of Kernel Hearts, a title that combines action and role-playing with roguelike mechanics. Players are part of a unit that ascends a tower to face angelic creatures and overthrow a god. It arrives in September on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC, offering a cooperative entertainment option with friends across multiple platforms.
Technical development: loops and climbing in Unreal Engine 🎮
The studio has opted for Unreal Engine 5 to bring the tower to life, with a level design that prioritizes verticality and melee combat. The roguelike structure is based on cycles of ascent and reset, where each attempt slightly modifies the arrangement of enemies and resources. On consoles, a 60 fps rate is expected on PS5 and Xbox Series, while on Switch 2 the dynamic resolution will be adjusted. The game includes matchmaking for four players, although there are no plans for cross-play across all platforms at launch.
Climbing stairs and hitting cherubs: the messiah's routine ⚔️
Because nothing says epic adventure like repeating the same hallway for the tenth time only for a neon-winged angel to erase your progress. But hey, at least you'll do it with friends, which is the perfect excuse to blame the other guy when you fall into the void. And all to reach the final boss and discover that the god is a programmer with a bad temper.
