Wargaming Group has confirmed the release date of World of Tanks: HEAT, a new free-to-play vehicle shooter set in an alternate post-World War II era. The title, independent of the main saga, will arrive on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam Deck on May 26, 2026, offering PvP combat and cross-platform progression.
Proprietary engine and modern graphics for PvP combat 🎮
The game uses an engine developed internally by Wargaming, designed to deliver immersive environments and stable performance across all platforms. HEAT bets on a vehicle shooter experience with improved physics and updated visual effects. Steam Deck compatibility and cross-play allow users to keep their progress regardless of the device, a practical approach for those who switch between console and PC.
Retro tanks, but without that 80s gasoline smell 💥
Wargaming takes us to a post-World War II uchronia where tanks have more LED lights than a showroom car. That said, the cross-play is real, so you can be destroyed by a PC player while you play from the couch. At least the humiliation will be cross-platform and, for once, you won't have to blame your fiber connection.
