On May 15, at the Concorso d´Eleganza Villa d´Este, BMW will present the Vision ALPINA, the first model of its new premium sub-brand. This classic-style grand tourer sits between BMW and Rolls-Royce, and its silhouette hints at a long front end suggesting a six- or eight-cylinder engine. A rebirth of Alpina exclusivity.
Combustion engine or Neue Klasse platform? 🚗
Although the brand has not confirmed technical details, the elongated hood points to a six- or eight-cylinder block, similar to those in the 6, 7, and 8 Series. The big question is whether this concept incorporates elements of the revolutionary Neue Klasse platform, already present in the iX3 and the future i3. If it used that base, it could combine a thermal engine with partial electrification, maintaining the sporty character without sacrificing efficiency.
The cool grandpa arriving hungry for glory 😎
Alpina returns as an official sub-brand, but with classic airs that seem straight out of a gentlemen's club. Of course, with that long front end, parking at Lake Como will be an odyssey. The neighbors of Villa d´Este are already rubbing their hands: they will need two parking spaces and a servant to guide them. At least, the roar of the engine will justify the spectacle.
