VIPS relies on a centralized platform that integrates digital communication, patrol geolocation, and real-time video surveillance. The system allows resources to be assigned based on the urgency of each alert, avoiding duplication. It is expected to connect with provincial databases to speed up the identification of suspicious vehicles or individuals. Staff training includes protocols against cyberattacks and multi-emergency management, a practical approach aimed at anticipating the most common problems in rural and urban areas.

Of course, when we talk about comprehensive surveillance, some residents are already wondering if the service will also include a drone to catch the neighbor taking out the trash outside of hours. Or if the specialized agents could, by the way, locate that sock the washing machine swallowed back in March. The irony is that, with all this coordination, the only thing we surely won't miss will be the next municipal tax increase to pay for it.
