Japanese brand Uniqlo has announced its new collection of t-shirts inspired by One Piece, which will include four designs featuring Monkey D. Luffy, Sabo, Garp, and Koby. The garments will be available in selected stores and on its website starting next month. Followers of Eiichiro Oda's series will be able to purchase these clothing pieces that combine basic fashion with direct references to the work.
Design process and character selection 🎨
Uniqlo's design team has worked with official illustrations to ensure the fidelity of the characters on the t-shirts. Each design has been printed using high-durability screen printing techniques, with inks that withstand frequent washing. The selection of Luffy, Sabo, Garp, and Koby responds to a generational representation criterion within the series, covering from the new generation to veteran figures. The t-shirts will be made from organic cotton, following the brand's sustainability standards.
Garp's strategy to combat summer heat ☀️
It seems even Vice Admiral Garp needs a break from the heat, and nothing is better for that than a Uniqlo cotton t-shirt. While Luffy looks for meat and Sabo plans revolutions, Koby will probably sweat thinking about how to impress his mentor. The curious thing is that no one has asked why Garp, who sleeps during important meetings, doesn't appear with a printed pillow instead of a t-shirt. Perhaps Uniqlo will consider that for its next pajama collection.
