The aid for teaching materials covers books, photocopies, and software, but does not include the coffee needed to survive eight o'clock morning classes. That extra expense, along with renting a state-of-the-art scientific calculator, still comes out of your pocket. At least, the UMU recognizes that studying costs more than just tuition and notes.
