Publisher PLAYISM and developer roccay have announced the release of The Dream Of A Cockspur for PC via Steam this summer. The story places six researchers on a remote island, where they examine a mysterious celestial body that fell from the sky. For two weeks everything is normal, until the fishing boat's engine becomes unusable just before returning to the mainland.
How the broken engine defines survival mechanics 🌾
The plot forces the characters to await rescue, but the game introduces an agricultural twist: they prepare fields and sow special seeds that germinate quickly. This harvest not only feeds the group but also acts as a catalyst for strange events. From a technical standpoint, roccay seems to bet on a narrative where isolation and agriculture intertwine with horror elements, generating tension from limited resources and inexplicable phenomena linked to the celestial body.
Castaways with a garden: the horror of being a forced farmer 🚜
Imagine being stranded and your only option is to sow. The researchers go from analyzing a meteorite to debating whether the fertilizer is too dry. While they wait for a rescue that takes its time, the scariest thing is not the celestial body, but having to worry about weeds. At least, if they survive, they'll come out with a certificate in intensive agriculture and a good story to tell back on the mainland.
