The Stellantis plant in Figueruelas (Zaragoza) is preparing for a new production boost with the hiring of between 450 and 500 workers. The initial contracts will be for six months, renewable, a measure that responds to the increased production expected with the arrival of the B10 model from the Chinese brand Leapmotor. The company is optimistic about the plant's future, suggesting that many positions could become permanent in the long term.
Leapmotor B10: the Chinese car driving the Figueruelas assembly line 🚗
The B10 model is a compact electric SUV developed on the LEAP 3.0 platform, which integrates an 800-volt architecture. This enables fast charging and an estimated range of over 500 kilometers. Production in Zaragoza is part of the agreement between Stellantis and Dongfeng to manufacture Chinese vehicles in Europe, combining Leapmotor's technology with the industrial capacity of the Aragonese plant. The assembly line is being adapted to assemble both this model and current ones.
Six-month contract: the new promise of job stability ⚙️
Six months renewable sounds like they pat you on the back and say: don't worry, if sales don't crash, you're staying. Stellantis is confident the B10 will be a success, but in the meantime, new employees will learn not to make long-term plans beyond paying the rent. Of course, with Chinese electrification in the mix, they might even have to learn Mandarin to read the manuals.
