Insomniac Games has confirmed that Marvel's Wolverine will arrive on September 15 on PlayStation 5, but not on PC. According to a Bloomberg leak, Sony has decided to cancel PC ports for its narrative single-player games. This policy, announced by Hermen Hulst in an internal meeting, leaves millions of players out. Titles like Ghost of Yotëi and Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet will also be console exclusives.
The technical decision that isolates a platform 🎮
The measure responds to a shift in Sony's strategy, which prioritizes hardware sales and the closed PlayStation ecosystem. Internal sources indicate that Hulst believes PC ports cannibalize console sales and reduce user loyalty. Although titles like Horizon Zero Dawn or God of War had good results on PC, the company now seeks to regain exclusive control over its flagship franchises. This means that to enjoy Wolverine in its full splendor, owning a PS5 will be necessary. Insomniac developers have optimized the game to take advantage of the SSD and the DualSense controller, but there will be no PC version in the near future.
PC is left without claws and without consolation 💻
PC players will have to fend for themselves if they want to see Logan tearing through enemies. Some are already sharpening their keyboards to request a port, while others speculate about emulators and homebrew solutions. But Sony has been clear: without exclusivity, there is no paradise. Meanwhile, PS5 owners will be able to enjoy the game and, incidentally, remind their PC friends that money can't buy happiness, but it can buy a console. Of course, they shouldn't even think about borrowing a friend's, because Sony's DRM is unforgiving.
