The Salamanca City Council has launched a cleaning operation covering more than 300,000 square meters of publicly owned plots. The objective is to remove dry vegetation and accumulated waste, thereby reducing the risk of fires and improving the urban image in various parts of the city over the coming weeks.
Municipal logistics and machinery for urban clearing 🚜
To tackle this area, equivalent to about 42 football fields, teams of municipal brigades have been coordinated with brush cutters, tractors, and load trucks. The work focuses on scattered plots across all neighborhoods, prioritizing those with the greatest accumulation of trash or dry vegetation. The planning includes a rotating schedule that allows covering the most problematic areas before the arrival of summer heat.
The weeds say goodbye, but the plots will remain on vacation 🌿
Residents can breathe a sigh of relief: Salamanca's urban jungle is losing its wildest flora. Of course, as in B-movies, no one guarantees that the grass won't grow back in a couple of months. In the meantime, the plots will sport a low cost barber-shop look that will last as long as it takes for the first rain to give them a little affection.
