Eugene Judd, known as Puck, is one of the most unique members of Alpha Flight. His short stature contrasts with an agility and strength that defy logic. Far from being a mutant, his abilities come from rigorous training and the mystical containment of an ancient spirit within his body. John Byrne created this adventurer who proves that size doesn't define the fighter.
The mystical mechanism of spiritual containment 🌀
Puck's power source lies in an arcane pact with a thousand-year-old spirit called the Snow Man. This being inhabits his body, granting him superhuman strength and remarkable physical endurance. However, this containment is not perfect. If Puck loses control or is seriously injured, the spirit can manifest, increasing his power but also his body volume. It is an unstable safety system that requires constant control.
The downside of having a millennial tenant 👻
Having an ancient spirit inside your body sounds great until you realize you can't complain about the weather without your host taking offense. Puck lives with a roommate who hasn't paid rent for a thousand years and, on top of that, decides when to puff up like a balloon. If you ever feel bad about having a noisy neighbor, remember that Eugene has a ghost that changes his clothing size without warning.
