MAGES has confirmed that the remastered collection of visual novels My Merry May with be will be released digitally for PlayStation 4, joining the previously announced Switch version, on June 25. The pack includes the original titles from 2002 and 2003, My Merry May and My Merry Maybe, along with the additional scenarios Beginning, Metempsychosis, and Epilogue. To celebrate the announcement, a new official trailer showcasing the remastered content was released.
Technical details of the remaster 🎮
This edition updates the graphics and interface of the original visual novels to adapt them to current screen resolutions, on both PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. MAGES has not detailed deep changes to the graphics engine, but the trailer shows rescaled sprites and backgrounds with a more defined color palette. The gameplay remains faithful to the early 2000s releases: dialogue choices that determine the course of the story and multiple romantic endings.

If in 2002 it was already hard to choose between the girls at the virtual high school, now you'll have to do it with sharper graphics and the same teenage angst. The good thing is that, at least, you'll be able to load your save faster than on the original PS2. And if you fail to win over your favorite character, you can always blame the modern controller, which surely doesn't respond the same as the classic one. Romance has never been so pixelated.
