Polyarc has confirmed the release of Moss: The Forgotten Relic for summer 2026. This adventure merges the campaigns of Moss and Moss: Book II, including the Twilight Garden DLC, adapting them to traditional controls. The title will arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC, Nintendo Switch, and the future Switch 2, eliminating the need for virtual reality headsets to enjoy Quill's story.
The leap from VR to 2D: how Polyarc adapts spatial gameplay 🎮
The studio has redesigned the controls to replace motion controllers with standard gamepad or keyboard and mouse inputs. The camera, previously free in VR, has been restructured into fixed shots that preserve the sense of depth and scale. Polyarc assures that they have adjusted the puzzles and combat to work without the original spatial immersion, maintaining direct interaction with the mouse Quill and the environment.
No headset, but the same sweat on the controllers 😅
Now you can turn your head with the analog stick instead of sweating inside a visor. Goodbye to rubber marks on your face and the fear of bumping into the living room lamp. Welcome the comfort of the couch, even if you lose the excuse of pretending to exercise while playing. Quill will look at you just as adorably, but without judging your slouched posture.
