On July 10, The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show (1983-1986) premieres, based on Schulz's comic strips. Additionally, on July 31, the special Snoopy Presents: There's No Place Like Home, Snoopy is released, where Snoopy loses his doghouse and Charlie Brown helps him find it. Apple TV+ is already preparing the movie Snoopy Unleashed, with Snoopy running away to the big city.
The technology behind classic Peanuts animation 🎬
The miniseries This is America, Charlie Brown and The Charlie Brown and Snoopy Show were produced using traditional cel animation techniques, with 24 frames per second and hand-painted backgrounds. For their streaming restoration, Apple TV+ applied 4K scanning processes, grain removal, and color correction, respecting Schulz's original palette. The new special Snoopy Presents: There's No Place Like Home, Snoopy uses 2D digital animation, with vector models that mimic the ink stroke and style of the comic strips. Audio synchronization was adjusted to preserve the characters' comedic pauses.
Snoopy runs away: the doghouse wasn't his home 🐾
Snoopy loses his doghouse and Charlie Brown goes out to find it. You'd think the beagle found a better Airbnb, but no: it turns out his lifelong mobile home is still irreplaceable. Meanwhile, Apple TV+ is already preparing Snoopy Unleashed, where the dog runs away to the big city. So, Snoopy is in his rebellious phase: first he loses his roof, then he takes off without warning. Charlie Brown should consider putting a GPS tracker on his collar.
