The Provincial Council has allocated 250,000 euros to develop the jubilee itinerary of Almodóvar del Campo. The project aims to boost religious and cultural tourism during the Jubilee Year. It includes the rehabilitation of emblematic spaces and the signage of routes connecting points of historical and spiritual interest, attracting visitors interested in the area's richness.
Technology applied to the pilgrimage route 📱
The plan includes the installation of interactive panels with QR codes at each point along the route. These will allow access to digital maps, explanatory audios, and historical data from a mobile phone. An augmented reality app will be integrated to visualize reconstructions of ancient buildings. Physical signage will be reinforced with GPS beacons to prevent getting lost, and an online reservation system for guided tours of the temples will be enabled.
Faith, funds, and dates: the trident of local success 😄
With 250,000 euros, the Provincial Council hopes that pilgrims will not get lost amidst so much spirituality. Everything points to the signage being so precise that even the most distracted faithful will not confuse the hermitage with the corner bar. And if the app fails, there is always the option of asking the parish priest, who has been trying for years to get someone to visit his church without it being to ask for a light.
