Level-5 will release Inazuma Eleven: Cross for mobile devices on June 9, but exclusively in Japan. This free-to-play title combines soccer and role-playing, where the player trains a team while searching for a missing brother. Fans outside of Japan are left without a release date in the West, limiting access to the game for now.
Technical development and game mechanics ⚽
The game uses an engine optimized for mobile devices that allows real-time matches with up to eleven players per side. Role-playing mechanics include character stats, skill trees, and a recruitment system to form the ideal team. The narrative unfolds in chapters, with dynamic events that alter progress. Level-5 has confirmed that the title does not require a constant connection, although certain multiplayer features do. The Japanese version includes texts in that language, with no option to change.
Meanwhile, in the rest of the world... 🌍
Western fans can start warming up... or rather, their fingers, because they'll have to wait. While Japanese players are already training their team to find the lost brother, we're still watching gameplay videos and wondering if Level-5 will remember to translate the game before the brother turns 40. At least we can practice our Japanese with the character names.
