The market for affordable electric SUVs has a new contender that makes things difficult for the Dacia Spring. The Hyundai INSTER arrives with a discount of over €8,500, bringing its price below €17,850. With greater range and standard equipment that includes multiple airbags, 15-inch alloy wheels, and LED lights, this Korean model presents itself as a more complete option without raising the cost.
Dual screen and full connectivity in an electric city car 🚗
The INSTER comes standard with a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen, both 10.25 inches. This system includes an integrated navigation system and full connectivity with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, features that are often optional or simply unavailable on the Dacia Spring. Added to this is a broader safety package, with multiple airbags and driving assistants that raise the segment's standard without inflating the final price.
The Dacia Spring might as well start ordering a coffee to wait ☕
With this move, Hyundai has given the Dacia Spring a thorough run for its money on its own turf. While the Romanian model was content with being the cheapest, the Korean one arrives and says: I offer the same price but with a large screen, more kilometers of range, and LED lights. The Spring now has to decide whether to grit its teeth and improve or resign itself to being the cute but basic one in the class.
