GoEngineer, a global engineering provider and authorized partner of Dassault Systèmes, Stratasys, and Bright Laser Technologies, has acquired SKA, a SOLIDWORKS distributor in Latin America. SKA will operate as a GoEngineer company, marking its first expansion into the southern hemisphere. This move follows its entry into Canada in 2025 and adds the Latin American region to its continental presence.
Technical implications of the merger 🔧
The integration of SKA allows GoEngineer to offer local support and value-added services in countries such as Mexico, Brazil, and Colombia. SOLIDWORKS users in the region will gain access to advanced simulation tools, additive manufacturing, and product lifecycle management. SKA retains its technical team and distribution channels, ensuring continuity in the design and industrial development projects already underway.
Now Latin engineers will have support in their own time zone ☕
Until now, Latin Americans had to get up early to ask a gringo for technical help. With the acquisition of SKA, GoEngineer promises support in local time and in Spanish. What they don't clarify is whether they will also include coffee with pastries for the 8 a.m. video calls. At least, engineers will be able to complain about bugs in real time, without having to wait for it to be daytime in Utah.
