Fog Land, the WEBTOON series created by POGO (LESSA), immerses us in an international prison for dangerous criminals. Dante Kang, a science teacher, arrives to work and on his first day a riot breaks out. He becomes trapped in nine hellish levels where action and terror combine in an oppressive atmosphere. A grim setting that captivates the reader from the start.
Level design and animation in an oppressive world 🎭
The nine-level structure in Fog Land recalls platform game designs, but with a denser narrative approach. POGO uses a drawing style with marked shadows and dark backgrounds that reinforce the feeling of claustrophobia. Dante Kang's progression through each level involves not only physical obstacles but also moral dilemmas. The limited animation, typical of the webtoon format, is compensated by large panels that detail the horror of each environment. The prison feels alive and hostile.
Nine hellish levels and not a single day off 🔥
Dante Kang thought being a science teacher was stressful, but nothing compared to having to escape a hellish prison on his first day of work. Nine levels of killers, monsters, and corrupt guards. Almost like a day of remote work, but with a higher risk of death. At least he doesn't have to grade exams. The irony is that he was looking for a quiet job and ended up in hell. Welcome to Fog Land.
