The studio has replaced relationship bars and personality traits with a trust system that directly affects cooperation among the crew. Decisions no longer depend on predefined emotional states, but on the accumulation of credibility with each character. This technical change aims to offer more direct and less abstract consequences, eliminating hidden variables that could be confusing in previous installments like The Devil in Me or Little Hope.
