Dotemu and Tribute Games have released a new downloadable character pack for MARVEL Cosmic Invasion. For $3.99, players can add Cyclops and The Thing to their roster. Cyclops, leader of the X-Men, channels his kinetic energy beams to cut through the Annihilation Wave, with the ability to fire diagonally at airborne enemies. The Thing, from the Fantastic Four, is presented as a grappler with great mobility to rebound off stages and surprise his rivals.
Combat Mechanics and Character Design 🎮
The Tribute Games team has implemented differentiated control systems for each character. Cyclops uses a continuous beam that can be aimed in eight angles, allowing him to cover wide areas of the stage. His energy bar recharges by dodging attacks. The Thing, on the other hand, employs a grab system combined with a wall bounce to initiate combos. His passive resistance reduces incoming damage by 30 percent, acting as a tank protector in cooperative matches. Both characters include specific animations for each of their special attacks.
