Benidorm has given the green light to the project that will mark a before and after in the European skyline. The Alicante city approves the foundations to build a residential skyscraper that will surpass any other residential building on the continent in height. The initiative reinforces its commitment to verticality and high-end tourism.
Vertical Engineering: The Technical Details of the New Colossus 🏗️
The project includes a reinforced concrete structure with a steel core to withstand winds and seismic movements. State-of-the-art tower cranes and sliding formwork will be used to speed up concreting. The design includes ventilated facades with low-emissivity glass and geothermal climate control systems. The final height of the building remains a secret, although sources close to the project suggest it will exceed 200 meters.
Concerned Neighbors: The Skyscraper's Shadow Covers the Beach Bar 🌞
While architects celebrate the record, the owners of the beach bars on Poniente Beach are already calculating what time the sun will reach them. Some neighbors fear the building will create drafts capable of messing up tourists' hair on the terrace. But it's not all complaints: the highest floors promise views so distant you could see your neighbor in Murcia doing laundry.
