The ANOMALIA residency program, based in the Czech Republic, announces its summer bootcamps for 2026. After a season focused on local talent, it returns to its international format with in-person mentorships lasting up to four weeks. The sessions start on June 22 in two UNESCO World Heritage sites: the GASK Gallery in Kutná Hora and a Renaissance castle in Litomyšl. 🏰
Workflow and pipeline in historical settings 🎨
Participants will work on pipelines adapted to unconventional spaces. The use of open source software such as Blender for modeling and rigging is prioritized, combined with Krita for texturing. Post-production relies on DaVinci Resolve and Natron. Without centralized servers, teams will use local storage synchronized via Resilio Sync, which requires careful management of assets and versions to avoid network data collapses.
The Renaissance castle and the backup drama 🦇
Working in a 16th-century castle has its charm: beam ceilings, damp stone, and WiFi that depends on the goodwill of local ghosts. If your laptop overheats, you can use a marble slab as a heatsink. But beware: if the render fails, don't blame the render farm, blame the bat that nested in the router. At least the scenery is nice for crying in front of a crash.
