Amazon has updated its price tracking feature, now powered by artificial intelligence, to show the complete history of a product over the last year. Users can access this information from the Price history button in the app or by asking the Rufus assistant, viewing changes over 30, 90, and 365-day periods.
How the new price history works 📊
The feature integrates historical price data into the app interface, processed by the Rufus AI model. When selecting a product, the system displays variation graphs across three time ranges. This allows detecting supply and demand patterns, although it does not include predictive alerts nor guarantees that the current price is the lowest of the year. The information updates in real time according to catalog fluctuations.
Now you'll know if that discount is a mirage 🕵️
Finally, you'll be able to check if that 50% discount is real or just another marketing illusion. It turns out the product went up 40 euros last week only to drop 10 today. Thanks, Rufus, for reminding us we're fish in an ocean of fake deals. Sure, at least now you can complain with data in hand while adding that charger you never needed to your cart.
