Jens Kafitz presents version 6 R4 of his Mari Extension Pack, a key suite of tools for Foundry's 3D painting software. This update consolidates the package, used in high-level studios, and initiates an extended support phase. It includes new features and ensures compatibility with the latest VFX reference platforms, also preparing for Mari 7.x.
Expansion of nodes and technical workflow 🛠️
The update introduces more than 40 blend mode nodes, expanding composition options within the material graph. Pattern and noise generators are added, along with a dedicated assistant for 3D scan projection, streamlining that task. Improvements in node graph management aim to optimize organization in complex projects. The pack complies with the VFX Reference Platform CY2022 and CY2023 specifications.
Your subscription to peace of mind (for just a few more euros) 😌
With the slight price increase, Kafitz basically sells you peace of mind for the next four years. While other releases ask you to pay again every few months, here you pay once and can forget about looking for updates until 2028. It's the digital version of planting a tree: you put the money in now and then just sit in the shade as it grows. That said, the shade costs a bit more than last time.
