Fans of X-Men 97 can breathe easy. Larry Houston, the show's producer, has confirmed that the delays that stretched the wait between the first and second season will not happen again. The second season lands on Disney Plus on July 1, 2026, but subsequent seasons will arrive each year, offering a more stable production pace for the audience.
Optimized Production: The End of Animation Bottlenecks 🎬
The previous problem lay in the coordination between external studios and the script approval chain. Houston explained that they have already established a more efficient workflow, with animation teams aligned from pre-production. This eliminates the two-year delays, allowing the third season to enter production immediately after the second season's release. Rendering technology and remote collaboration tools have also been adjusted to prevent delays.
Mutants in a Hurry: Finally, They Stop Making Us Wait as Fans ⏳
It seems the producers discovered that making fans wait two years to see Cyclops complain wasn't a good idea. Now they promise annual seasons, as if they had found Charles Xavier's lost stopwatch. Hopefully, they'll apply the same logic to coffee breaks in the writers' room. At least by 2027, we won't have to explain to our grandchildren who Magneto is.
