WisdPi has introduced an expansion card that turns any PC into a massive connectivity station. For $199, this device based on the AMD B650 chipset adds four M.2 slots, eleven USB ports, and one OCuLink port. The proposal is clear: upgrade old equipment without replacing the motherboard or buying a new computer.
B650 chipset and massive connectivity for obsolete equipment 🖥️
The board connects via OCuLink, offering enough bandwidth to handle multiple NVMe drives and peripherals without bottlenecks. The eleven USB ports include high-speed versions, and the B650 chipset manages the distribution of PCIe lanes. This allows a five-year-old PC to run modern storage and current devices without losing performance. Installation is straightforward, without modifying the BIOS or the power supply.
The industry cries: it can no longer sell you a new board every year 😈
It turns out that current motherboards come with fewer ports and slots than the technology allows. Coincidence, of course. WisdPi has spilled the beans: if you can add eleven USB and four M.2 ports to an old PC, why buy a new one? Manufacturers must be meeting right now to decide whether to ban this product or buy it and bury it. Meanwhile, you can keep using your 2018 tower as if it were 2025.
