The Computex 2026 trade fair in Taiwan has been the stage for a new wave of home technology. AI-powered barista robots, military drones, and real-time voice translators were presented as tools to facilitate everyday tasks, from ordering a coffee to booking a table at a restaurant. Automation is advancing, although some of these gadgets still have no confirmed release date for Europe.
Integrated AI: from the coffee bar to the battlefield 🤖
The barista robots demonstrated the ability to take orders, prepare coffee, and manage payments autonomously, using learning algorithms to personalize drinks. In the military field, the drones presented integrate autonomous navigation and target recognition in complex environments. Voice translators, for their part, promise fluid conversations with no latency, using language models trained in multiple dialects. Efficiency is the common goal, although mass implementation still depends on local regulations.
The robot barista doesn't ask how you're doing (and maybe that's better) ☕
The truth is, having a robot make your coffee without commenting on the weather or your tired face has its upside. But when the same system that serves your latte can be used to pilot a military drone, you start to wonder if the next order will include a short-range missile as an extra. That said, at least the translator won't judge you if you order the menu in broken English.
