The independent study has confirmed that Blue Ridge Hunting, a cooperative horror video game inspired by Appalachian legends, will arrive on PC in early access during August. Players will be able to investigate and hunt mythical creatures in a rural setting, either solo or by forming a team. Its retro visual style promises an experience reminiscent of titles from the 1990s.
A retro engine with modern hunting mechanics 🎮
The development team has opted for a graphics engine that emulates the technical limitations of the 16-bit era, but integrates dynamic artificial intelligence systems for the creatures. Each creature responds to unique behavior patterns based on its legend, forcing players to adapt their tracking strategies. The early access will include three initial creatures and a progression system that will be updated over time.
