A brawl in a home in Southall, London, ended with the death of a 20-year-old man from a stabbing. Police found two injured people at the scene, one of them around 30 years old, who was arrested and remains hospitalized without life-threatening injuries. Seven men have been arrested for murder as the incident is investigated.
Smart knives: the technology that doesn't reach the streets 🗡️
While London police deploy operations against knives, so-called smart knives, designed with sensors that detect pressure or materials, remain a laboratory prototype. Their use in commercial cutlery is almost nonexistent. Neither has the implementation of metal detectors in entertainment areas become widespread, despite 40% of homicides in the UK being committed with a bladed weapon, according to the ONS.
Knife kills, but seven detainees don't save the dead ⚰️
Seven arrests sound like a law enforcement squad, but the deceased no longer needs justice, but resurrection. The hospitalized man, arrested and injured, will have plenty of time to reflect on his skills with steel while awaiting trial. At least in prison, there will be no knives on the table, only plastic cutlery and a menu that doesn't invite fighting.
