The remake of Assassin's Creed Black Flag, now called Resynced, arrives on July 9, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC with a weight of 65.79 GB. This is double the 30 GB that the original game occupied. The news has set off alarm bells among players, who will need to clean up their hard drives to make room for this new version with improved graphics and extra content.
The technical leap behind Resynced's 65.79 GB 🎮
The size increase is due to 4K textures, more detailed character models, and a revamped global illumination system. Additionally, new explorable islands and side missions have been added that were not in the 2013 title. The Anvil game engine has been updated to take advantage of current hardware, although this means the game will occupy almost 66 GB fixed, not counting future patches or downloadable content.
Double the space to plunder the same ships ⚓
So it turns out that to sing sailor songs and loot galleons again, you now need twice the free space you did thirteen years ago. The funny thing is, with those extra 35 GB, you could install the original Black Flag twice. But no, you have to delete old screenshots, uninstall that game you promised to finish, and pray that the day-one patch doesn't weigh another 20 GB.
