Wacom Cintiq 16 with Higher Resolution and Smaller Tablet Size
Wacom has renewed its most affordable model in the professional Cintiq line with the new Cintiq 16 (2025). This update arrives five years after the last version, with key improvements in resolution, size, ergonomics, and compatibility with the new Wacom Pro Pen 3.
Thinner, More Precise, and with Better Color
Although it maintains a 16-inch screen, the new Cintiq 16 is more compact and lighter than its predecessor, going from 16.6 to 15.1 inches wide and from 1.0 to just 0.6 inches thick. Visually, the leap is even greater: the resolution increases from Full HD to 2,560 x 1,600 px, and the color gamut now covers the entire sRGB, ideal for illustrators, animators, and 3D artists.
Pro Pen 3 with Full Pen Customization
The new tablet comes with the Wacom Pro Pen 3, which offers the same 8,192 levels of pressure and tilt recognition up to 60 degrees, but now with a modular design, grips, weights, and button layouts can be swapped to suit the user's preference.
Virtual ExpressKeys and Simplified USB-C Connectivity
To improve ergonomics, the physical side buttons have been replaced by virtual ExpressKeys, allowing work with the tablet completely flat on the desk. A USB-C port has also been added that enables using a single cable, provided the device supports DisplayPort Alt-Mode or Thunderbolt 3+.
Competitive Price for Its Range
The new Cintiq 16 will be available from July 2025 at a price of approximately 650 €.
Five years of waiting for a smaller tablet... and yet now more art fits in every pixel.
