The studio Blue Ant Studios has confirmed at the Kidscreen Summit the start of production for Tralala, a new animated series aimed at preschool audiences. This international co-production between Canada and New Zealand is being developed in collaboration with Stretchy, CBC and Sky NZ and is scheduled to premiere in 2026.
A story full of imagination and music
Tralala follows the adventures of a seven-year-old frog who lives with her father Sid in a cozy blue house in the countryside. Creative and music-loving, Tralala has built an imaginary world where she plays with her unique friends:
Main characters
- Batty: A bat with an impeccable sense of fashion.
- Pasilio: A shy tree that grows in her garden.
- Hildegard: A talking hill with an eccentric personality.
The series seeks to capture the magic of childhood, promoting creativity, play, and the bond between parents and children.

According to Diane Rankin, executive vice president of Blue Ant Studios, Tralala represents the studio's vision of creating inclusive and original content for children.

- Antony Elworthy: Animator on Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio and Isle of Dogs.
- Julianna Cox: Character designer on Coraline and Shaun the Sheep.
- Don McGlashan: Soundtrack composer.
Among the executive producers are Mark J.W. Bishop, Matthew Hornburg, Rankin, Trauth, and Donna Luke from Blue Ant Studios, while Harry Sinclair and Fiona Copland lead production at Stretchy.
