The Solidarity School ECAS Reinvents Itself Outside France
The ECAS (脡cole Cartoucherie Animation Solidaire), founded in 2017 by Guillaume Hellouin, former director of TeamTO, has paused its activities in France after losing financial support from its main partner. However, the project does not disappear: it plans to open new centers in Morocco, C么te d'Ivoire, and Polynesia.
A Solidarity Model with an International Vocation
The school stood out for offering free and intensive training to people without resources, especially in disadvantaged areas. With only 20% of its original team, ECAS is now exploring how to adapt that same model in emerging ecosystems where the demand for animators is growing, but educational offerings remain limited.
France Saturated, Africa as an Opportunity
This shift reflects a growing trend in the sector: while France recognizes a oversaturation of animation schools, other institutions like Rubika are already opening campuses in strategic territories like R茅union, with an eye on Africa.
Thus, a school born to democratize training in France now does so... thousands of kilometers from Paris! Perhaps its new life outside the hexagon is just the boost it needs to continue fulfilling its mission.
