The government activates the commission to rebuild after the DANA
Spanish authorities have launched a Joint Commission to direct the work of repairing the areas affected by the heavy rains in the Valencian Community. The objective is to unify and accelerate all available resources. 🛠️
A structure to coordinate all levels
This body will integrate representatives from the Central Government, the Generalitat Valenciana, the Diputación de València, and the most affected municipalities. Commissioner Zulima Pérez will be the main interlocutor, with the mission of aligning actions and avoiding overlaps. Her role will be fundamental for the process to advance coherently.
Key functions of the commission:- Centralize and plan all efforts to repair material damage.
- Continuously monitor progress and adopt binding agreements.
- Serve as the single communication channel between the different public administrations.
The objective is to centralize and streamline all efforts to repair the damage.
Preparing the ground for effective action
Before the commission is formally established in January, a preparatory meeting will be held. In it, Zulima Pérez and the third vice president of the Consell will define the working methodology and the first steps. This ensures that the body begins operating with a defined roadmap from its first official session.
Objectives of the preparatory phase:- Establish a clear and agile working method for the entire commission.
- Define priorities and avoid duplications in the execution of aid.
- Prevent delays in starting the necessary repair works.
The final challenge: synchronizing agendas
The last hurdle for the commission to start functioning is to get the political calendars of all those involved to align. Overcoming this logistical coordination challenge is, at times, as complex as organizing the reconstruction itself. The success of the process will largely depend on this initial synchronization. 🤝
