The future BMW M3 goes electric with the Neue Klasse platform
The German brand is preparing a radical change for its iconic sports car. The next BMW M3, scheduled for 2027, will leave combustion and the CLAR platform behind to fully adopt the electric Neue Klasse architecture. This move implies redesigning the car from its foundations. 🚗⚡
A completely new technical base
The switch to the Neue Klasse platform is not just an adaptation. It requires rethinking the structure, how to distribute the components, and how to organize the space. The main goal is to make the car more efficient and increase passenger habitability, something where electrics usually excel.

The performance will be overwhelming. BMW will implement a four-motor system, one on each wheel. This configuration allows individual and precise torque management, enabling very advanced traction control and torque vectoring. It is estimated that the combined power will exceed the 1,000 HP barrier. The energy will be stored in a new-generation battery with cylindrical cells, which aims to offer high range and allow fast charging.
