Netflix has shared details of the cast and the first images from the latest season of Big Mouth, the acclaimed Emmy-winning adult animated series. The plot follows a group of teenagers facing the challenges of puberty and, in this season, their transition to high school life.
Inspiration from personal experiences
Created by Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg, the series is based on their own adolescent experiences. Through a group of friends and their hormone monsters, the story addresses themes like sexuality, personal growth, and the complexities of teenage life. In this season, the characters face new challenges, such as learning to drive, dealing with drugs, sexual inexperience, enthusiastic consent, and the impact of cancel culture.
Friendship as a fundamental pillar
In Big Mouth, friendship is a key element for overcoming the difficulties of this stage. Characters like Nick, who experiences his first growth spurt, and Andrew, who faces premature maturity, find strength in their bonds to overcome crises. A new character, Compassion, represented by a creature voiced by Holly Hunter, emerges as a crucial figure to guide the young people in moments of confusion. The season emphasizes the importance of supporting each other, especially when life becomes chaotic and overwhelming.

A star-filled cast
Each season of the series features an impressive group of guest stars, and this one is no exception. Among the highlighted names are Cynthia Erivo, Steve Buscemi, Kristen Wiig, Quinta Brunson, Nathan Fillion, Ali Wong, Keke Palmer, Natasha Lyonne, Aidy Bryant, Lena Waithe, Billy Porter, and many more. John Mulaney voices Andrew, while Nick Kroll plays several characters, including the protagonist Nick.
The team behind the series
In addition to Kroll and Goldberg, the series' creators and executive producers include Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett. The main cast also features the voices of Maya Rudolph, Jason Mantzoukas, Jordan Peele, Fred Armisen, Andrew Rannells, Ayo Edebiri, and Jessi Klein. Big Mouth is a Netflix original production.
Premiere of the final season
The final season of Big Mouth will premiere globally on May 23 on Netflix, marking the end of a series that has explored the complexities of adolescence with humor and sensitivity.
