Folivari has enthusiastically announced that the project for the series The Baker Street Four has advanced from the development phase to production. This exciting step is backed by a co-production agreement with ARD, a German public broadcaster, ensuring a solid financial foundation for the series.
A Series Inspired by Sherlock Holmes
The Baker Street Four is a series aimed at children aged 6 to 10, drawing inspiration from the famous Sherlock Holmes universe. This character, which entered the public domain in 2023, now inspires an adaptation of the popular comic book series created by Jean-Blaise Djian and Olivier Legrand, with illustrations by David Etien.
The Protagonists and Sherlock Holmes' London
The plot follows Charlie, Tom, Billy, and their cat Watson in a London very similar to the one imagined by Arthur Conan Doyle in his novels. In this series, Sherlock Holmes himself will ask for the children's help to be his eyes and ears in solving mysterious cases. An adventure blending comedy and mystery, designed to captivate younger audiences.
The Series Will Be Available in 2027
The series is scheduled to premiere in 2027, leaving plenty of time to learn more details about its production. The series is directed by Francis Canitrot, a young talent who impressed with his work on the short film Le Sexe de Ma Mère.
An International Project Seeking More Partners
Despite the strength of the co-production, Folivari is still seeking more partners in different territories. To facilitate this process, Melissa Vega, Head of International Acquisitions and Sales, will be present at the Kidscreen event, where further international collaboration is expected.
First Images and Anticipation for 2027
Although the series is still in development, some images have already been revealed, giving an idea of the production's graphic direction. With the release date set for two years from now, fans of the series eagerly await the first episodes.
“This series has everything children love: adventure, mystery, and a touch of comedy that makes it unique.”
