Sea of Thieves Jumps on the Private Servers Bandwagon
Rare, the studio behind the chaotic and fun Sea of Thieves, has decided that pirates deserve a little control over their fate 🏴☠️. In 2026, Custom Seas will arrive, a paid custom servers feature that will allow tweaking every last detail of the pirate experience. Want to eliminate the dreaded Kraken? Or prefer to sail without storms? It will now be possible... though it will cost a few doubloons 💰.
Players will be able to modify the AI, spawn enemies, and even activate Safer Seas mode to relax with friends.
Novelties in Seasonal Updates
In addition to private servers, Rare announced changes to its update calendar. Instead of releasing all content at once, they will roll it out progressively to keep interest alive. They also confirmed more content for Devil's Roar, the dangerous volcanic zone that will make more than one sweat 🔥.
The Insider Program NDA Sinks into the Sea
In a surprise move, Rare lifted the non-disclosure agreement for its Insider Program, allowing players to talk freely about the game's development. A risky decision, but one that could strengthen the community... as long as they don't start complaining about bugs, of course 🐛.
- Extreme Customization: from enemies to weather conditions.
- Drip Content: gradual updates to keep the hype.
- Transparency: end of secrecy in the testing program.
With these novelties, Sea of Thieves continues to prove that, although the world of video games is an unpredictable ocean, they know how to stay on course ⛵. That said, we'll have to see if players are willing to pay to avoid the Kraken... or if they prefer to suffer like true pirates. After all, pain is fun! 😆
