Kiya and Kayaan Bring Indian Mythology to the Screen with ApplaToon
Applause Entertainment has launched ApplaToon, a YouTube channel dedicated to the little ones. And to kick things off strong, they present Kiya & Kayaan, an animated series that not only features adventures but delves into the fascinating world of Indian mythology. Here, there are no princesses waiting to be rescued, but two siblings with virtual reality visors ready to dive into the unknown.
A Journey to the World of Storyland
Kiya and Kayaan are two very special kids. Instead of getting bored after doing their homework, they put on their VR visors and transport themselves to Storyland, a place where Indian mythology turns into an exciting adventure. In this universe, the siblings chase mythical monsters, search for ancient artifacts, and learn about values like courage, curiosity, and how not to be a buzzkill with others.
Behind the Animation: A Cultural Touch
This project is not just a brilliant idea; it has been developed by Applause Entertainment in collaboration with the publisher Amar Chitra Katha, famous for its vast collection of comics inspired by Indian mythology. The goal is to bring more than 400 stories to the screen, giving Indian myths new life in animated format. Imagine the gods dancing bhangra in 3D! If Kiya and Kayaan manage to survive all their adventures (and their parents' report cards), we'll surely see many more stories based on this vast universe.

A New Way to Teach Culture
According to Sameer Nair, CEO of Applause Entertainment, the channel is a new creative window. Instead of teaching history with dates and boring lessons, Kiya and Kayaan teach through mythical creatures and epic scenarios. This way, kids not only learn culture but live an adventure in every episode. And all this without cereal commercials in between!
Animation That Jumps Off the Pages
Preeti Vyas, president of Amar Chitra Katha, explains it perfectly:
βWhat was once ink on paper now comes to life and jumps onto the screen, creating worlds where heroes, gods, and demons dance together in 3D.βWith the magic of animation, those old mythical stories are no longer just on paper; now they speak and move in 3D!
To Not Get Lost in the Mythology
If you feel lost in this wave of entertainment, here's a quick list to catch you up:
- ApplaToon: a new channel full of fresh content, without cereal commercials.
- Kiya & Kayaan: two adventurous siblings who give lessons in courage and culture.
- Storyland: an Indian mythology theme park where the adventure never ends.
- Amar Chitra Katha: legendary comics that now move on the screen.
- YouTube: the virtual playground, where everyone can learn and have fun.
ApplaToon doesn't just bring cartoons. It offers a fun and vibrant way to connect kids with ancient stories without having to learn to pronounce gods' names with more syllables than a novel. And while Kiya and Kayaan keep traveling through legendary worlds, parents can breathe easy: at least there's something on screen that teaches without asking for a password. π
