Ford Mustang Dark Horse sports a Verstappen body kit
Ford collaborates with Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen to unveil a unique variant of the Mustang Dark Horse. This project stems from the three-time world champion's personal desire to own a muscle car with its own identity, resulting in a visually powerful transformation. 🏎️
An aerodynamic design inspired by competition
The body kit, conceived by Verstappen, completely modifies the vehicle's stance. Entirely manufactured in carbon fiber, the package not only seeks an aggressive visual impact but also generates useful aerodynamic downforce, applying principles from the racing world.
Key elements of the kit:- A wide front splitter that lowers the car's visual center.
- Side skirts that outline the wheel arches.
- A prominent fixed rear wing that dominates the rear.
- Set of 20-inch alloy wheels with a specific design.
- Exhaust system that accentuates the engine sound.
This collaboration shows that sometimes an F1 champion prefers the roar of a naturally aspirated V8 to the hum of a hybrid powertrain.
Interior and mechanics: essence preserved
Inside the cabin, the changes are discreet and limited to commemorative details. The mechanics remain unchanged, retaining the 5.0-liter naturally aspirated Coyote V8 block with its 500 horsepower. The suspension and brakes are also identical to those of the stock Dark Horse.
Interior and drivetrain features:- Inclusion of plaques with Verstappen's signature and his number 1.
- 5.0L Coyote V8 engine without power adjustments.
- Chassis, suspension, and brakes without technical modifications.
A style exercise over performance
This special edition is defined as a style exercise that prioritizes visual presence and personal expression over pure performance improvements. It demonstrates how passion for engines can materialize in projects that celebrate the character and sound of traditional powertrains. 🐎
