Bugs Bunny Takes the Baton at the Hollywood Bowl
This summer, the most mischievous rabbit in the history of animated film is celebrating. π Bugs Bunny is turning 85, and what better way to celebrate than with a unique show at the Hollywood Bowl, where classical music and cartoons come together in an unrepeatable concert. π»π°
During two magical nights (July 11th and 12th), the iconic outdoor stage will transform into a giant cinema with 17 classic shorts from Looney Tunes projected on the big screen, while the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra plays the original scores by Carl Stalling and Milt Franklyn live. Yes, just like the old days, but with better sound!
The Classics That Can't Be Missed
Among the most anticipated shorts are:
- Whatβs Opera, Doc?
- The Rabbit of Seville
- Long-Haired Hare (which, interestingly, takes place at the Hollywood Bowl!)
Conductor George Daugherty, co-creator of the Bugs Bunny at the Symphony show, will lead the orchestra, ensuring every note and every carrot crunch is perfectly synchronized. πΌπ₯
More Than a Concert: A Looney Experience
But this isn't just music. The event will include:
- An appearance by Eric Bauza (Emmy winner for his work on Looney Tunes)
- The official voice of Porky Pig, Bob Bergen
- Creative activities from the Chuck Jones Center for Creativity
- Photo sessions with Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck
Since 1990, this show has been a pioneer in fusing classic animation with live music, creating a unique genre
A Legacy That Lives On
What began as a tribute to cartoons has become a global phenomenon. Bugs Bunny at the Symphony not only celebrates 35 years of existence but has proven that classic animation and orchestral music are a perfect combination. Who would have thought a gluttonous rabbit would be the bridge between Mozart and cinema? π
So if you're in Los Angeles this July, don't miss this show. Because, as Bugs himself would say: "Eh, what's up, doc?"... Well, this! π΅β¨
