Square Enix has announced that NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139... has surpassed the barrier of two million units shipped and sold digitally worldwide. This relaunch, a remastered version of the original title, arrived on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in April 2021. The figure marks progress from the 1.5 million announcement in November 2022, consolidating the game's positive reception in the market.
The Technical Reconstruction of a Classic 🔧
The project, led by Toylogic, involved a ground-up reconstruction of the original 2010 game. Character models and textures were redesigned for HD, the soundtrack was redone with new arrangements, and the combat system was adjusted to bring it closer to that of NieR:Automata. The technical work allowed preserving the narrative and aesthetic essence of Yoko Taro, while offering a visual and playable experience adapted to current standards, without being a simple remaster.
The Title with a Forgotten Password Name 🤔
It's understandable that sales continue to grow. Many players, after trying to ask for the game out loud in a store, probably found themselves forced to buy it online after spelling out ver point one point two two four... for the third time and receiving only confused looks. The title is a small test of dedication: if you manage to remember it, you've demonstrated the patience needed for its material collection missions.
