The Chinese studio Papergames has announced the release dates for Neverness to Everness, its free open-world action RPG. The game will launch on April 23 in China and April 29 worldwide for PS5, PC, iOS, and Android, with cross-platform support. Players can already pre-register to obtain rewards, such as the character Haniel, when follower milestones are reached.
A Graphics Engine for a Living, Cross-Platform Metropolis 🏙️
The development of Neverness to Everness has required a graphics engine that handles the density and detail of Hethereau, its main city, while maintaining stable performance on consoles and mobiles. Implementing cross-play and cross-save across all platforms poses a technical challenge in data synchronization and combat fairness. Optimization for a variety of Android and iOS devices is another pillar of the project.
Open Your Antique Shop (and Your Ghost Hunting Team) 👻
The premise of managing an antique shop while leading a team to hunt anomalies sounds like the combination of two very peculiar part-time jobs. One expects the management system to include options to put up a Closed for Entity Extermination sign or to split the budget between buying an ancient vase and blessed ammunition. At least recruitment promises to be easy: it's easier to find companions with powers than a reliable plumber.
