Horse Powertrain, the company derived from Geely and Renault, has unveiled a new hybrid powertrain concept. Its particularity is that it is designed to use 100% renewable gasoline. This development, carried out in collaboration with Repsol, is proposed as a transition option that leverages the current combustion infrastructure, with the aim of reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
The H12 Concept and Its 44.2% Thermal Efficiency ⚙️
The system, called the H12 Concept, combines an internal combustion engine optimized for advanced biofuels with a hybrid architecture. The key figure announced is a thermal efficiency of 44.2%, a figure that is above the average of current gasoline engines. This performance is achieved through the integration of technologies such as a heat recovery system and advanced thermal management. The first demonstration vehicle to incorporate this technology is scheduled for 2026.
